Ho Ying Chan is an Assistant Professor and the Chairperson of the Centre for International Studies at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. He holds a PhD in International and Political Studies from the University of New South Wales, Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. His research focuses on the politics of identity and Malaysia’s external relations. Ying Chan is currently working on a book project based on his PhD dissertation, and two research projects on: 1) Malaysia-Singapore relations; 2) Malaysia’s national identity.
