Ho Ying Chan is an Assistant Professor and the Chairperson of the Centre for International Studies at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. He holds a PhD in International and Political Studies from the University of New South Wales, Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. His research focuses on the politics of identity and Malaysia’s external relations. Ying Chan’s book titled “Special Relationship in the Malay World – Indonesia and Malaysia” had been published in August 2018. He is currently working on a research project on Malaysia’s National Identity.
